That's a whole lot of miles my friend. Since its your friend I would think he would not try and screw you over on it. So many miles. Saabaru and the Mazda wagon are pretty sweet rides. Did I mention that's a lot of miles.

NP if it's in good mechanical shape. 250k is a lot, and without listing any recent service done on the car that scares me. The plugs should have been done twice and I'm sure some VANOS seals need replacing. Also, stating a 330Ci has the sport package and H&K stereo is like saying your uncle has a dick - they both came stock. The Premium package is nice but personally I prefer the aluminum trim in mine. Also, does the exhaust flappy thing work?

I think it's a great price, with some cautions from an E46 owner:

Do the windows work?

Has the headliner delaminated? Meaning have parts of it started to peel off.

When was the coolant system (including water pump, radiator, hoses, and expansion tank) last replaced? This must be done every 80k miles.

Does the sunroof work or "crunch"?

Is the VANOS leaky?

Is the steering hose leaky?

When were the suspension bits last changed?

It'll be a great car, but all this work could literally be $6k or more and it's all very common.

It's not just a "car" - it's an E46 and the support system for parts is infinite. It could go on literally forever. It'd probably part out for more than 5k.

Wow I thought the Miata a relative bought with 178k miles on it was a bit much. Miles don't mean very much if the car was well kept though. Nice car!

Not up on the market for these but the price strikes me as a bit high for a quarter million miles. That said, I wouldn't be scared of that mileage if the maintenance history is documented. That car looks clean as hell! Mmmmm...track car...

H&K was an option in the 330Ci in 2001 and prior (like the sport package); in 2002 H&K and the sport package was made standard equipment on the 330Ci.
